Just pulling some stuff over from my old website. Mad Garden is a game I built up as a project work for the Game Programming course I took at my university about a year ago.

Now to be honest, I don't know why they had that course, as it was a total waste of time and money on behalf of everyone who was involved. Well, at least it gave me the chance to polish the engine a bit further while working on the game.

The underlying engine is a hobby/learning project I've been working on-and-off for several years now and is the base for most of the programs I host on this site. It's built on console portability and general usability in mind and comes with an asset pipeline of its own.

The game itself features amazing sound effects and music, utterly poor graphics, fancy but art-lacking particle effects, standard PCF shadow maps with fair amount of Peter Panning, and all this combined with a gameplay that's guaranteed to hook you just long enough until the soundtrack starts to repeat.

Give it a go if you haven't, but don't be surprised - it was a one man do-it-all masterpiece.
